8th Annual
NORTH BERKELEY SPICE OF LIFE FESTIVAL

Get a taste of North Berkeley at the 8th Annual Spice of Life Festival! This five-block long food and art fair celebrates the spice of life with cooking demos and samples by local chefs, gourmet food, beer and wine, a farmers market, artist exhibitions, yoga and bodywork demonstrations, and lots of kids activities. Don’t miss the Vine Street wine garden, the interactive nature sculpture project, live music on three stages, and street food booths by neighborhood favorites like Saul's, Kirala 2, Corso Trattoria, Bistro Liaison, and Ciocolatta de Vino.

Chefs MikeC and Olivier Said of the Kitchen on Fire Cooking School in North Berkeley will again host the full day of gourmet culinary demonstrations at the Culinary Stage featuring some of East Bay’s most sought after chefs, including Todd Kniess of Bistro Liaison, Chef Rodrigo de Silva of Corso Trattoria, and Chef Brandon Dubea of Angeline’s Louisiana Kitchen.

Vintage Berkeley will again host 'Wine Tasting on Vine' featuring top local winemakers and great importers on hand pouring their wines along with live music featuring local jazz and bluegrass acts.

The North Berkeley All-Organic Farmers Market will be held at the festival, and there will also be daylong programs of yoga and bodywork, including free massage and facials at the YogaKula booth, accompanied by local musicians from the yoga community.

Other event highlights include the 'Create-with-Nature Zone' which transforms the street into a collaborative artistic expression with bamboo, flowers, and rocks led by ACCI Gallery member and environmental artist Zach Pine. Kids’ activities include pony rides, farm animals, a climbing wall, carnival rides, mosaic art, dance and cooking.
